Starting April 1, 2026, statutory health insurance will cover the costs for lung cancer screening using low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) for individuals at increased risk.
Eligible individuals include those aged 50 to 75 years with a long history of smoking. The goal is to detect lung cancer at an early stage, when it is often still treatable.
Before the screening, a medical consultation will take place to discuss the benefits and potential risks associated with the screening. The examination itself will be conducted in specially accredited radiological facilities.
Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or if you would like to know whether you meet the criteria for the screening.
